A management committee in each Garda district oversees the work of the local policing fora in its district (including community safety fora and neighbourhood watch)
In 2006, the National Monitoring Committee, identified community safety as a key priority, following which Community Safety Fora were established in the four Cork City RAPID areas in 2007.
Joint Policing Committees (JPCs) provide a dedicated forum to support consultation, cooperation and synergy on policing and crime issues between An Garda Síochána, local authority officials, and elected representatives and the community and voluntary sectors
