A management committee in each Garda district oversees the work of the local policing fora in its district (including community safety fora and neighbourhood watch). The administration of the Management Committee is supported by Cork City Council and is comprised of elected Joint Policing Committee members (i.e. Councillors and Oireachtas members) and community Joint Policing Committee representatives, chairs of the local policing fora and representation from the local alcohol and drugs task force committee.
Matters arising at the Community Policing Fora meetings that cannot be resolved locally are referred to the District Management Committee and issues that cannot be resolved by the management committee are referred to the Joint Policing Committee for resolution.
