Join us for a family fun day in Ballincollig Regional Park!

Preparations are well underway for the final of four ‘Welcome to our new city’ family fun days, which will take place in Ballincollig Regional Park on 21 September from 11am – 2pm.

Hosted by Red FM in association with Cork City Council, Lord Mayor, Cllr. John Sheehan will be in attendance, welcoming the residents of Ballincollig to our new city.

Ahead of Saturday’s family fun day, Lord Mayor, Cllr John Sheehan said: “I’m looking forward to the jam-packed family fun day planned in one of our beautiful parks. The ‘Welcome to Our New City’ family fun day in Ballincollig is a great opportunity to meet with people in our new city. I am also looking forward to visiting schools in the newly extended Cork City. In the coming weeks, I will be visiting schools in Ballincollig, Glanmire, Douglas, Frankfield, Grange, Blarney, Tower and Whites Cross as well as working to build connections between the wider communities of the new city”.

Red FM's Big Red Bus will be broadcasting from 10-2 with Colm O'Sullivan live from Ballincollig Regional park, along with facepainters, Piper Funfair’s carousel, a giant Jenga and Connect 4 for families to get stuck into and coaches from Cork Sports Partnership will be organising street games and races for young and old(er)!

Ballincollig’s Men’s Shed will be on-hand to give a superb woodwork demonstration, while St John’s Ambulance will showcase their services and supports.

Local talent High Falutin and the Tommie Cunniffe Trio will provide the tunes!

All are welcome to join in the fun! The first 100 people to join us will enjoy a free ‘Ballincollig - City of Change' cupcake.

As parking is limited, if possible please leave the cars behind and pull out the bikes!
