Cork City Council to mark Clean Air Day with series of free events

Thursday, the 7th of September is the United Nations International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies or Clean Air Day. This is the first time Clean Air Day will be celebrated in Ireland.

 

To raise awareness about the importance of clean air for health and the environment, Cork City Council will run a series of events across the city:

 

  • Light Show – Illumination of Cork City Hall for Clean Air Day (6th and 7th September, 21.30 - 22.30)
  • Lunch time cycle - City Hall to Fitzgerald’s Park, a FREE lunch and tea/coffee will be provided at Fitzgerald's Park  (Meeting point is City Hall Plaza, Anglesea Street at 12.30)
  • Information Hub at Cork City Library, Grand Parade (12.30 - 16.30)
  • Make a Pledge for Clean Air on a giant inflatable globe at Cork City Library Plaza, Grand Parade (12.30 - 16.30)
  • TFI bike spinning competition + FREE yearly bike share subscription (12.30 - 15.00) in front of Cork City Library, Grand Parade
  • Evening-time Clean Air roundtable discussion (17.30 - 19.00) Millennium Hall in Cork City Hall, Eglington Street Entrance
